Matthew is a compassionate, person‑centred counsellor who offers strengths‑based support rooted in kindness, authenticity, and respect. Originally from the United States, Matthew studied in Europe and has lived and worked in Asia for over a decade. He creates an open, honest, and non‑judgmental environment where people of all ages can share their stories, feel heard, and be understood.
With over 12 years’ experience working in education and international school settings, he understands high‑pressure environments, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by students, parents, educators, and professionals. Committed to inclusivity, he offers LGBTQ+ affirming counselling and warmly welcomes clients from all cultural and personal backgrounds.
Matthew tailors his approach to each client, drawing on evidence‑based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. He encourages clients to align with their values, strengthen their relationships, and build sustainable strategies that deepen their identity, motivation, and resilience.
Matthew has supported clients dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, and workplace concerns such as burnout, career transitions, and work–life balance. He also guides clients to develop greater awareness of their thoughts and emotions, fostering clarity, presence, and confidence in meeting life’s challenges.
Matthew offers counselling in English and is conversational in German.
