Marilyn is an empathetic counsellor who values compassion, kindness, and authenticity in her work. Holding a safe, secure and non-judgmental space for her clients, she works together with them to explore their inner worlds, identify unhelpful thinking patterns and make sense of complex emotions. Marilyn uses a combination of therapeutic approaches in her work, including Person-Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques.

Marilyn is passionate about working with both adults and adolescence. Her work with clients involves managing issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, cultural identity, sexual identity. She also helps clients improve self-esteem, confidence, communication and other life skills.

Born and raised in a multi-racial household, Marilyn has first-hand experience and understanding of the cultural nuances and challenges of both Eastern and Western culture. Further, prior to becoming a counsellor, Marilyn worked as a lawyer for numerous years and is well-placed to assist clients in facing stress and challenges common in highly competitive workplaces.

Marilyn conducts therapy in both English and Cantonese.
