Dr Yen Yim Cheung

Dr. Cheung is an experienced counselling psychologist with over a decade of clinical experience supporting individuals from a wide range of cultural and personal backgrounds. Her practice is grounded in a deep understanding of the psychological complexities that arise across the lifespan, with particular expertise in addressing clinical concerns like cultural adjustment challenges faced by both adults and youth navigating cross-cultural transitions, family relationship disruptions, including intergenerational conflict and communication breakdowns, and emotional distress in children, such as anxiety, mood difficulties, and behavioural concerns.

Dr. Cheung adopts an integrative therapeutic approach, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. She draws from evidence-based modalities including Person-Centred Therapy, Schema Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Family Systemic Approaches and Attachment-focused Therapies, ensuring that her work is both compassionate and clinically robust.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cheung serves as a lecturer and clinical supervisor for master’s and doctoral-level psychologist trainees at local universities. She is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals through thoughtful mentorship and reflective guidance.
