Dr. Karnani is an HCPC Registered Psychologist practicing in Hong Kong and utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches in her work such as Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) including emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), addiction counselling, family systems, person-centered and positive psychology.  

Dr. Karnani is passionate about the importance of the right support system in allowing each person to adapt, thrive and assert one’s agency as well as the interaction between mental and physical health in improving overall wellness.

Dr. Karnani is an empathetic, patient and compassionate therapist who utilizes clinical psychology to help clients from all walks of life. Having lived and worked in various parts of the world, including Hong Kong, Canada and India, she has experience with the way people from different cultures and backgrounds react to and process life events, such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma or a milestone moment. Dr. Karnani understands the need to have a non-judgmental space for individuals, couples and families to find their own solutions to conflicts, significant events and traumas in their lives and relationships. Dr. Karnani consults in English, Hindi and Sindhi and runs a regular DBT Skills Training Group.

Dr. Karnani is also a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P) which enhances her work as a psychologist as she works holistically by paying attention to the interaction between food and mood in improving mental health.
